What do we do?
Southern Counties Lost Dog Tracking provides expertly trained tracking dogs to help locate lost dogs (and the odd tortoise!). Our teams go through a three tier training programme and operational assessment, along with ongoing CPD to keep us working to a high standard. The dogs are trained to track the scent of the lost dog and can rapidly reduce the search area, therefore reducing the time it takes to reunite a dog with its owner. They can search large areas, both rural and urban, and identify the direction a lost dog is travelling in, and sites they may be revisiting, doing the job of a large ground search team efficiently and accurately.
Our team is trained by, and a member of the larger Lost Dog Tracking Network founded by Claire Brown, which covers the whole of the UK. To find a team in your area please click the link below.

The Search

How we work
Once we have made contact and have all the required information to confirm it is suitable to deploy the tracking dogs we will contact the team and create an active search team who will work out the best area to search and arrange tracking. More information about this process can be found HERE

Scent Articles
To enable us to track a lost dog we need a scent article that has been used by the lost dog, beds, collars and dog coats are ideal. Click HERE for more information.

Working with others
Tracking the lost dog is just a small part of the process. We work closely with other organisations to cover all aspects such as ground searching, drone searches, cameras and trapping. Follow the links below to the main organisations we work with.

Donate
We are self funded and offer a totally free service, we always welcome donations, however small, of time, equipment or money to covers costs. Please contact us if you can help in any way.
